Because our association is operated exclusively by unpaid civic volunteers, our physical secretariat at Rue Saint-Vincent is staffed on designated days. Electronic correspondence and voicemail messages are monitored throughout the week.

How to Reach Notre Dame de Montgauzy in Foix
Visiting the Romanesque chapel of Notre Dame de Montgauzy is an enriching Pyrenean experience. Situated atop a prominent limestone hill overlooking the confluence of the Arget and Ariège rivers, the monument offers breathtaking vistas of the historic town of Foix and the medieval towers of the Château de Foix.
By Foot (Pedestrian Trail)
From the historic center of Foix, take the scenic pedestrian path climbing from the Saint-Volusien abbey quarter. The trail winds through shaded oak woods for approximately 25 minutes (elevation gain: ~95 meters). Sturdy walking shoes are recommended.
By Public Rail & Transit
Arrive at the Gare de Foix via regional SNCF TER trains from Toulouse-Matabiau or Latour-de-Carol. From the station, the pedestrian access trail is accessible via a 15-minute walk through the town center across the Pont Vieux.
By Vehicle & Parking
To preserve the peaceful natural hillside and prevent structural vibration to ancient stone foundations, vehicular access to the immediate chapel parvis is strictly reserved for maintenance teams and individuals with mobility impairments. Public parking is available at Parking des Allées de Villote in downtown Foix.
Accessibility for Visitors with Reduced Mobility
While the historic hillside path includes natural gravel inclines, our association coordinates vehicular escorts up the service lane for individuals with reduced mobility during all scheduled public open days, seminars, and European Heritage Days.
